I had a great day helping out at the Southbank Centre in London.

It was great to meet a variety of people and volunteers who had a fascination with all things creepy-crawly.

Working with the kids making model caterpillers and butterfly masks was good fun - and fantastically messy. The kids went away smiling - as did some of the more creative parents and guardians!

Pestival was set up to raise awareness of insects. It's aim is to initiate a cultural shift in the way insects are percieved by celebrating how insects shape our world and how humans shape the world of insects, in both science and the arts.

Here are some sketches from a recent sketching trip - I have now learnt that gorillas roam around a lot when they are eating, lizards move more than you think and male lions are just big teasers!

March 2010 - I am currently enjoying working on a picture book for Floris books.
